Green jasper touched with iron oxide, Bloodstone offers a complex, masculine appeal. The bright red spots which distinguish fine specimens give rise to the stone’s evocative name. Bloodstone has great appeal to males of all ages. As an alternative birthstone for March, many men prefer Bloodstone to traditional Aquamarine.
Bloodstone is rated “fair” for everyday wear. Avoid exposure to heat, contact with chemicals, and protect from harsh blows and scratches. To clean, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush and a solution of mild dish soap and warm water, or clean in an at-home ultrasonic cleaner.
